India, Aug. 9 -- Assam School Holiday Tomorrow (August 10): Schools across Assam are set to reopen on Monday even as several parts of the state continue to recover from the recent floods. The Assam government has decided to resume regular classes in flood-affected districts, including Sivasagar and Charaideo, from August 10.

However, schools that remain damaged, submerged or covered with silt will use alternative arrangements so that students do not lose more classroom time.

The reopening comes amid another weather concern. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rain across Assam through August 12, with the possibility of flooding, waterlogging and thunderstorms.
