India, Oct. 2 -- India's wrestling campaign at the Asian Games 2026 had a difficult start on Friday, with Dipanshi, Priya Malik and Rajat Ruhal all losing their opening bouts. Sujeet Kalkal then provided a much-needed boost, powering into the men's 65kg freestyle quarterfinals with a dominant win over Afghanistan's Sayed Omar Zazai.
Dipanshi Loses 0-11 to Yui Susaki
Dipanshi was the first Indian wrestler in action in the women's 50kg category and suffered an 0-11 defeat against Japan's Yui Susaki by technical superiority.
