India, Sept. 25 -- Indian weightlifter Seram Nirupama Devi is set to compete in the women's 61kg Group A final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, and the competition will mark a new chapter for Nirupama after the IWF's recent restructuring of weight categories moved her from the 63kg division to the newly introduced 61kg class. The Indian lifter enters the event with an impressive resume, having won the elite women's 63kg title at the National Weightlifting Championships in Modinagar earlier this year while setting national records in the clean and jerk (127kg) and total (221kg).
