India, Sept. 26 -- Asian Games 2026 Medal Tally LIVE Updates: Sawan Barwal produced a historic performance in the men's marathon, finishing second behind Japan's Ichitaka Yamashita, who won gold in 2:10:49. China's Peiyou Feng claimed bronze. The result gave India its first Asian Games marathon medal since Hosur Kukkappa Seetharan won bronze in 1982.

The silver medal also saw Barwal improve his own national record by 21 seconds. His previous national record was 2:11:58, set at the Rotterdam Marathon in April 2026. World Athletics lists the Rotterdam performance as Barwal's previous national-record personal best.
