India, Sept. 25 -- India's Manush Shah and Diya Chitale secured a historic bronze in mixed doubles table tennis at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya after reaching the semifinals. The duo had earlier produced a major quarterfinal upset, defeating Hong Kong's world No. 4 pairing of Doo Hoi Kem and Wong Chun Ting 3-1. Shah and Chitale won the opening game 11-6 before Hong Kong fought back to take the second 15-13, but the Indians regained control with an 11-9 win in the third and closed out the match 11-5 in the fourth. Their semifinal run guaranteed India its first table tennis medal of the Games, although they later lost 4-0 to China's Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin, with the Chinese pair winning 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 and 11-2.
