India, Sept. 26 -- India added their fourth gold medal of the Asian Games 2026 after the men's kabaddi team defeated Iran 39-35 in a thrilling final at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Saturday. With this, India also moved back to the top 10 in the country-wise medal table.

Iran led 18-17 at half-time after a nail-biting opening period, and India initially fell further behind at 17-20 after the restart.

A crucial super tackle helped India reduce the deficit before the defending champions regained the lead at 21-20. The match remained tight at 24-23 before India produced the decisive phase, forcing an all-out to move 29-24 ahead with 10 minutes left.
