India, Sept. 24 -- Athletics takes centre stage for India at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, September 24, with a packed schedule featuring medal events, qualification rounds and the women's heptathlon. Several Indian athletes will be in action across the day as India look to add to their medal tally in Aichi-Nagoya.

The day's athletics programme begins early with Anamika KA and Pooja competing in the women's heptathlon 100m hurdles, followed by the high jump. India will also compete in the mixed 4x400m relay round.

The biggest medal opportunities come later in the day, with Niharika Vashisht and Asha Ilango competing in the women's triple jump final and Seema taking part in the women's 10,000m final.
