India, Oct. 28 -- Arsenal have decided to appeal the red card for Max Dowman during their shock Carabao Cup exit against Fleetwood Town. The Gunners are hoping the Football Association will deliver its verdict before their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The 16-year-old was sent off late EFL fourth-round tie after kicking out at Fleetwood defender Harrison Neal following a heavy challenge. Arsenal must submit the required appeal documents by 1pm on Thursday.

Dowman's dismissal could carry a three-match domestic suspension if the appeal fails. That would put his availability for the Liverpool fixture in doubt, making the FA's decision particularly important for Mikel Arteta's side.
