Anthropic In Discussions To Adopt Microsoft's AI Chips For Claude Expansion- Will It Challenge Nvidia's Dominance?
India, May 22 -- Anthropic is reportedly in early talks with Microsoft to lease servers using Microsoft's in-house AI chips to augment compute needed to support its Claude AI models as use of Claude increases in enterprise and consumer applications. The talks are ongoing and might not result in a final deal.
Microsoft's custom AI chips are Maia chips, which are focused on AI inference, not training. If Anthropic signs a deal, it would receive additional compute resources to enable the company to more quickly deploy and scale services based on Claude.
