India, March 26 -- At least 13 people lost their lives after a private travel bus collided with a tipper lorry and caught fire in Andhra Pradesh's Markapuram district early Thursday morning, according to police officials. Earlier reports had confirmed eight deaths, but the toll later increased as more details emerged. Several passengers were trapped inside the burning bus, and many were unable to escape.

The accident took place around 6:00 am when a bus operated by Harikrishna Travels was travelling from Nirmal in Telangana to Nellore. After the collision with the lorry, the bus immediately caught fire, leading to a tragic situation where several passengers were burnt alive.
