India, Sept. 9 -- A night that was supposed to end with music and celebration took a frightening turn for Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk after a vehicle linked to his concert convoy came under gunfire in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The shooting happened late Saturday, September 5, shortly after Virk performed at Rogers Forum as part of his 2026 Unity Tour.

Police said occupants of a dark-coloured SUV opened fire on a moving vehicle in the 2500-block of McCallum Road at around 11 pm. No one suffered injuries. Reports from Punjabi-Canadian and Indian media said the targeted vehicle was part of Virk's convoy and that the singer was travelling inside it.
