India, Sept. 19 -- The Federal Trade Commission announced this week that Amazon will expand and accelerate refund payments to consumers under last year's $2.5 billion settlement resolving allegations that the company enrolled millions of customers in Prime subscriptions without their consent and made cancellation deliberately difficult. A federal court approved a joint motion filed by the FTC and Amazon, clearing the way for broader and faster payments to affected customers, with the maximum refund amount rising from $51 to $200.
