India, Aug. 3 -- The Amarnath Yatra 2026 has become a model for environmentally responsible pilgrimage management, with authorities scientifically processing nearly 300 metric tonnes of solid waste generated by more than 4.5 lakh devotees till July 30. Despite the record footfall, officials have successfully implemented a Zero-Landfill approach through waste segregation, recycling, composting, and scientific disposal methods, ensuring minimal impact on the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
