India, May 18 -- Several Air India and Air India Express flights operating from Mumbai airport faced significant disruption on Monday after employees of a third-party ground handling agency staged a protest over wage-related demands.

Passengers reported long delays after landing, with some travellers allegedly forced to remain inside the aircraft for over an hour before being allowed to disembark.

The disruption affected both domestic and international operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and triggered widespread frustration among passengers on social media.
