India, July 9 -- Air Force Sergeant Promotion Error: The US Air Force has revoked the Technical Sergeant (E-6) promotions of 135 Security Forces airmen after discovering an administrative scoring error during the 2026 promotion cycle. The mistake, caused by the use of an outdated answer key for the promotion exam, prompted officials to re-score every eligible candidate in the Security Forces career field.

The review resulted in another 135 airmen being newly selected for promotion, while the overall promotion quota remains unchanged.
