India, Aug. 18 -- Ahmedabad residents in several West Zone areas are likely to face water supply disruptions on August 18 and 19 as the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) carries out urgent repair work on a major water pipeline. The disruption is linked to a leakage in the 1,600-mm Western Trunk Main supplying water from the Kotarpur Water Works.

Why Is Water Supply Being Affected In Ahmedabad?

According to reports, a breach has developed in the 1,600-mm diameter Western Trunk Main near J.P.'s Chali in Sabarmati. The pipeline is an important part of the network carrying water from Kotarpur Water Works to several distribution stations in Ahmedabad's West Zone.
