India, Aug. 11 -- IPL cricketer Abishek Porel has been arrested by West Bengal Police in connection with a case registered at Mogra police station in Hooghly district. The Bengal cricketer, who represents Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, was taken into custody on Tuesday over allegations made by a woman. According to the police, Porel is accused of having sexual relations with the woman after allegedly promising to marry her.

The case reportedly includes charges of rape, criminal intimidation and other offences. Porel was produced before the Chunchura District Court following his arrest.
