India, Sept. 26 -- A Different World has returned to Hillman College, but this time, a new generation is taking over the historic HBCU. The Netflix sequel follows Deborah Wayne, the daughter of original-series favourites Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, as she begins her freshman year. Around her is a group of students dealing with friendships, family expectations, romance, money, college pressure and the complicated process of figuring out who they really are.

The new cast includes Maleah Joi Moon, Alijah Kai, Cornell Young IV, Jordan Aaron Hall, Kennedi Reece and Chibuikem Uche. Several familiar faces from the original A Different World also return, including Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer and Darryl M. Bell.
