US, Nov. 4 -- As we light our diyas this Diwali season, we face another chance to choose light over darkness. Diwali reminds us that light always triumphs over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over fear. Tomorrow, every ballot we cast is a diya.

On the eve of the November 3 midterms, I have spent the day reading forecasts, polls and early-vote data. My conclusion: Democrats are winning. We are on track to take both the House and the Senate. Our job tomorrow is to turn that momentum into victory.

Start with the math. Republicans hold the Senate 53-47. Democrats need a net gain of four seats, because a 50-50 Senate lets Vice President JD Vance break ties and keep Republicans in charge.
