Can India achieve AI-led growth and avoid AI-led unemployment?
US, Aug. 21 -- India stands at a fascinating crossroads. For decades, its economic policymakers have been fighting an uphill battle to generate sufficient productive employment for the country's rising young population.
However, the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has promised to act as a powerful productivity booster, cutting through red tape, streamlining business processes, and turbocharging the services sector.
The catch, however, is that while AI may be good for India's growth, it may come at the expense of employment for many Indians. My Article is that India can successfully pursue AI-led growth while avoiding AI-led unemployment, so long as employment is prioritized in India's AI policy design.
