Mumbai, June 6 -- Following extensive engagement by IVPA along with other industry associations, the government has introduced a SOP for the reintroduction of standardised edible oil pack sizes.

The milestone policy change will mark a definitive end to fractional, non-standard retail packaging, establishing a new era of market transparency in the edible oil ecosystem.

The unified advocacy campaign was led by the Indian Vegetable Oil Producers' Association (IVPA) along with other associations.

The SOP aims to improve transparency, make price comparison easier for consumers and support fair trade practices.

The move will put a lid on predatory packaging practices and help buyers to confidently evaluate prices.
