India, Sept. 20 -- Ukrainian forces launched more than 1,000 drones at targets across Russia overnight, including what Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described as the largest-ever drone attack on the Russian capital, officials said on Sunday.Stream History Documentaries

Russia's Defence Ministry said its forces shot down 1,100 Ukrainian drones across the country, as well as over Crimea and the waters of the Black Sea.

Sobyanin said 450 drones were destroyed while heading towards Moscow. Some drones struck the Moscow Oil Refinery and a residential building, he said. The extent of the damage and any casualties were not immediately clear.
