Jammu Tawi, July 15 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday detained two alleged habitual offenders under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu district and lodged them in separate jails, officials said.

The detainees were identified as Janu Kumar alias Nago, and Karan Kumar alias Anil alias Nandi - both residents of R S Pura tehsil.

According to police, a detention warrant against Janu Kumar was issued by the Jammu district magistrate. Acting on the warrant, police conducted raids at various suspected locations and apprehended him.

After execution of the PSA warrant, he was lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal in Jammu, officials said, describing Janu as a habitual offender allegedly involved in six cases related to attempt to murder, posse...
