Jammu Tawi, Aug. 16 -- A 108-foot-high national flag mast was installed in Kachrial village along the Line of Control in Jammu district on Saturday as part of Independence Day celebrations, following a 1.5 km Tiranga march organised by the Army, officials said.
The march began with ex-servicemen and primary school students of Pallanwala carrying the tricolour through the historic border region to commemorate the 80th Independence Day, they said.
The march culminated in Kachrial with the hoisting of the tricolour on the 108-foot-high mast, followed by a ceremonial salute and singing of the National Anthem, they added.
