Jammu, Aug. 6 -- Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers and busted a narcotics supply chain in Jammu city, recovering heroin-like substances, syringes, electronic weighing machines, cash and mobile phones, officials said on Thursday.
The arrests were made during an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking under the drug-free campaign. Police intercepted a Mahindra Thar during routine checking at a traffic naka in Channi Himmat and recovered two syringes, including one containing a suspected narcotic substance.
A search of the driver, Mohd Tabish Saleem of Mendhar in Poonch district, led to the recovery of a heroin-like substance. A similar substance was also recovered from co-passenger Mohd Irfan of Raika, Bahu Fort, officials said.
