Take Red Cross services closer to people: LG Sinha

Jammu, Sept. 1 -- Directs DCs to boost resource mobilisation, explore innovative funding avenues

Srinagar, Aug 31: Emphasising the need to take Red Cross services closer to the people, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday called for greater outreach in far-flung and border areas.

Chairing the Annual General Meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society, J&K UT, LG Sinha said, "The Red Cross Society must further strengthen its humanitarian role and expand its activities to ensure timely assistance and essential services reach vulnerable and needy sections of society across Jammu Kashmir."

He also entrusted the officials of IRCS J&K to further intensify the anti-drug campaign and make their valuable contribution to building a Nasha Mukt Jam...
