Jammu, Sept. 2 -- Jammu may witness brief intense showers; Kathua, Katra record highest rainfall

Jammu Tawi, Sep 01: Rainfall lashed parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, while the Meteorological Centre here predicted intermittent rain across more areas of the Valley on Wednesday.

According to the details available, fresh showers were reported in Pahalgam, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Bandipora and parts of Budgam and Kupwara, while many areas of the Jammu division also received rainfall.

The Meteorological Centre stated that Katra recorded the highest rainfall in the Union Territory in the past 24 hours at 62 mm, followed by Kathua AWS at 73 mm, Poonch at 38.5 mm and Udhampur at 27 mm.
