Jammu, April 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Udhampur road accident and announced ex-gratia for the victims' families.

In a message, the Prime Minister conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the bus accident in Udhampur.

An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while Rs 50,000 will be given to those injured.

The Prime Minister described the incident as deeply painful and extended his sympathies to those who lost their loved ones in the tragedy.
