India, Oct. 8 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for a global mechanism to tackle cyber frauds, deepfakes and digital crimes, saying digital threats have crossed national borders and require coordinated action by governments and other stakeholders.

Inaugurating the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, Modi said governments, technology companies, telecom operators and financial institutions must work together to develop effective mechanisms to prevent digital frauds.
