Jammu, Aug. 3 -- 46,642 projects completed, benefiting nearly 47.6 lakh people under Adarsh Gram initiative
New Delhi, Aug 3: The Centre has selected 47,328 villages across the country under the Adarsh Gram component of the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY) to accelerate the socio-economic development of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities.
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that 46,642 development works have already been completed under the programme, benefiting 47,59,399 people. The scheme seeks to improve living standards through integrated village development and convergence with various Central and State welfare programmes.
