NEW DELHI, April 16 -- A 21-year-old bride-to-be was allegedly attacked with acid by her fiance's girlfriend during a mehendi ceremony in northeast Delhi's Gokalpuri area, leaving her with serious burns, police said.

The victim, who was scheduled to marry on April 19 alongside her sister, sustained injuries to her eyes, face, neck and hand and is undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where her condition is under observation.

The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on April 14 at her residence in Indira Vihar. According to police, the accused, a 26-year-old woman and a neighbour of the victim, entered the house without raising suspicion and mingled with guests before launching the attack.
