India, Sept. 30 -- A massive fire broke out in Mungli village of Warwan in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district early Wednesday, gutting eight houses and several cowsheds. No loss of human life has been reported.War & Conflict



According to officials, the fire erupted in a residential house shortly after midnight and rapidly spread to adjoining structures. Locals used earth-moving machinery to demolish parts of the affected structures in an effort to prevent the flames from spreading further.



As Warwan does not have a fire station, fire tenders were rushed from Kokernag in neighbouring Anantnag district. The blaze was brought under control at around 4 am, although personnel continued monitoring the area for smouldering flames.
