Srinagar, April 26 -- Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday flagged off the 'Sunday on Cycle' event on the banks of Dal Lake, stressing that citizens must be physically fit for India to become a developed nation.

Speaking during the event, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports said a healthy population is key to building a strong and developed country. "If citizens are fit, society will be healthy, and only a healthy society can make India a developed nation," he said.

Mandaviya is in Srinagar to attend a three-day Chintan Shivir organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
