MUMBAI, April 12 -- Veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle has passed away at the age of 92, marking the end of one of the most remarkable and enduring careers in Indian music.
Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after suffering cardiac and respiratory complications. She had reportedly been unwell for the past few months and was shifted to the ICU in critical condition on Saturday night.
Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed her death.
Renowned as one of Bollywood's most versatile and prolific voices, Bhosle's career spanned several decades, during which she recorded thousands of songs across multiple languages and genres, leaving an indelible mark on Indian music.
