J&K Police Bust Inter-State LeT Module, Five Arrested; Key Terror Operative Held After 16 Years
Srinagar, April 7 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday busted an inter-state module of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), arresting five persons, including a key operative who had been evading capture for 16 years, officials said.
The arrested include Abdullah alias Abu Hureira, a long-wanted terror figure who had established bases outside the Union Territory, and another Pakistani terrorist, Usman alias Khubaib. The operation was carried out jointly with central agencies.
Investigations involved searches at 19 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Haryana, leading to the recovery of incriminating material and exposure of a deep-rooted network providing logistical and financial support to terrorists.
