JAMMU, Aug. 23 -- A suspected Pakistan-origin drone was sighted along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district on Sunday, prompting security forces to launch an extensive search operation in the area, officials said.
The drone-like object was spotted hovering over forward villages in the Bobiyan area of the Hiranagar sector at around 10:35 am, officials said.
After remaining in the area for a few minutes, the suspected drone was seen moving back towards Pakistan, they added.
Following the sighting, security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search to rule out the possibility of a payload being dropped from the drone.
