India, March 15 -- The Army on Sunday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, killing a Pakistani terrorist during a joint operation with the police, officials said.

According to the Army, the operation was launched during the intervening night of March 14-15 after receiving specific intelligence inputs from Jammu and Kashmir Police about a possible infiltration attempt in the general area of Buchhar in the Uri sector.

Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X that troops on patrol detected suspicious movement in a thicket and laid an ambush to intercept the infiltrator.
