SRINAGAR, April 9 -- A fire broke out at the main bus stand in Kupwara district, damaging seven buses, officials said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night, but no casualties were reported. Firefighting teams were immediately pressed into service and, after several hours of sustained efforts, the blaze was brought under control, officials added.
According to officials, three buses were severely damaged, while three others sustained partial damage. One additional bus was affected by heat and smoke.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is currently under investigation, officials said.
