NEW DELHI, April 12 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for the implementation of the Women's Reservation Act in its true spirit, stating that the 2029 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections should be held with the quota for women in place.
In a letter to floor leaders of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha ahead of a special three-day sitting of Parliament, Modi urged all members to unite and pass necessary amendments to operationalise the law, officially known as Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.
