SRINAGAR, May 25 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday said the situation at the Gulmarg Gondola was under control after the cable car service was temporarily suspended due to a technical snag.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Chief Minister, all gondola cabins are safe and intact, while rescue teams have been deployed to evacuate stranded tourists.

The administration said trained personnel were carrying out rescue and evacuation operations and that the situation was being closely monitored on the ground.

Officials urged the public not to panic, assuring that all necessary safety measures had been put in place and the matter was being handled efficiently.
