Jammu Tawi, May 21 -- A 21-year-old girl set herself ablaze in broad-day light on River Tawi bridge here in the heart of the City on Thursday apparently due to stress over a love affair.
Police sources said as per initial findings, a "love affair" was the reason for taking such an extreme step.
"A police team immediately swung into action on receiving information that the girl attempted to self immolate herself by pouring petrol," they said.
"The girl has received around 70 to 80 percent burn injuries and has been rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu," said police adding that a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
