Reasi, Aug. 17 -- A farmer from Pouni tehsil has accused the Agriculture Department of alleged irregularities in a high-tech polyhouse project, claiming that he suffered substantial financial losses after the structure was damaged by heavy rains.
Farmer Kuldeep Raj alleged that he invested several lakh rupees in the project, which was intended to improve agricultural production and provide employment opportunities.
According to him, the greenhouse, estimated to cost around Rs 16-17 lakh, developed serious structural problems within one or two months of its construction.
Talking to The Northlines, Kuldeep alleged that he was asked to hand over a cheque of around Rs 8.05 lakh in connection with the project.
