Srinagar, Aug. 22 -- Authorities on Friday reopened Doodhpathri, one of the major tourist spots in Budgam district, for visitors. The destination temporarily closed due to inclement weather conditions and the risk of flash floods and landslides last month.

Local traders, pony operators, cab drivers, food stall owners and other stakeholders, welcomed the decision, saying the reopening will help them resume their livelihoods after the temporary closure.

"We are happy that Doodhpathri has reopened. Tourism is our main source of livelihood, and the return of visitors will provide much-needed relief to local families," locals said.
