New Delhi, May 1 -- The price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was increased by a steep Rs 993 per 19-kg cylinder on Friday, marking the sharpest-ever single revision amid rising global energy costs driven by the ongoing West Asia conflict. This is the third consecutive monthly hike in commercial LPG rates.
With the latest revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder used by hotels, restaurants, and other establishments now costs Rs 3,071.5 in Delhi, up from Rs 2,078.50 earlier.
Earlier, prices were raised by Rs 195.50 per cylinder on April 1, following an increase of Rs 114.5 per cylinder on March 1. In the last three revisions alone, commercial LPG rates have surged by a total of Rs 1,303.
