SRINAGAR, May 18 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday expressed deep grief over the demise of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, father of MP Rashid and MLA Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh.

Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, 85, passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi, after a prolonged illness.

The Chief Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

He also prayed for strength and courage to the family to bear the irreparable loss.
