Jammu Tawi, Aug. 31 -- In a significant step towards passenger convenience and strengthening rail connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir, Jammu Division has successfully resumed the operation of Train No. 04688/04687 Budgam - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Budgam Special Express with effect from 29th August 2026.
With the resumption of this train, passengers travelling from the Kashmir Valley to Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, especially pilgrims, have got great relief.
Earlier, passengers had to change trains at Banihal, which caused inconvenience, but now with the availability of a direct train from Budgam to Katra, their journey has become smooth as well as time-saving.
