SRINAGAR, Sept. 18 -- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday handed over appointment orders to 29 newly selected Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) of the J&K Police (Gazetted) Services, urging them to treat their uniforms as a symbol of service, commitment and responsibility rather than authority.

Addressing the newly inducted officers at Lok Bhavan here, Sinha said the appointment letters represented the trust and expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and called upon the recruits to uphold the responsibility of safeguarding the Union Territory.
