Assam Police Search Pawan Khera's Delhi Residence, Recover Documents Amid Row with CM Sarma
New Delhi, April 7 -- A team of Assam Police, assisted by Delhi Police, on Tuesday searched the Nizamuddin East residence of Congress leader Pawan Khera in connection with a case linked to his allegations against Himanta Biswa Sarma's family.
Khera, however, was not present at his residence during the search, as he is currently in Hyderabad, party sources said. Police officials stated that some "objectionable documents" were recovered during the operation.
The action follows an FIR filed by Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, wife of the Assam Chief Minister, after Khera alleged in a recent press conference that she possessed multiple passports and that the family held substantial business interests in the United States.
