Poonch, April 19 -- In a crackdown on absenteeism, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch ordered district-wide surprise inspections across government offices, during which 172 employees were found absent without authorization.
Inspection teams visited offices across the district, including the headquarters, to assess staff attendance and functioning. Following the findings, show-cause notices have been issued to all absent employees, seeking explanations before any disciplinary action is initiated.
Authorities have also directed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers to withhold salaries of the absentee staff until further orders.
