JAMMU Tawi, Aug. 10 -- The government of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has declared 16 out of the UT's 20 districts as partially snow-bound areas for the upcoming Census 2027 and as such special arrangements and preparations are being made for conducting census operations in these districts.

In an exclusive conversation with the Northlines, the Chief Principal Census Officer of J&K and Ladakh, Amit Sharma, said that the classification is important for Jammu and Kashmir as the Union Territory prepares for the second phase of Census 2027.
